[February 11, 2026] – SDC celebrated the graduation of 24 trainees from its 5th Batch, including 14 trainees from Finn Church Aid (FCA). These 14 individuals—refugees from Eritrea, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo—overcame significant language barriers since November 2025 through peer interpretation and a shared passion for learning.

The event was attended by 60 guests, including an FCA delegation: Deputy Country Director Stephen Ssenkima, Phionah Orishaba(Private Sector Engagement Officer), Isaias Tekle(Creative Industries Officer), and Winnie Katumba(Safeguarding Coordinator).

Mr. Stephen Ssenkima (FCA) congratulated the graduates on their resilience, urging them to "carry this momentum forward and never stop challenging yourselves."

Mr. Han, Director of SDC, also extended his congratulations to the graduates and expressed deep gratitude to the SDC instructors. He noted that their dedicated guidance was the foundation of the trainees' success, especially in navigating the linguistic challenges of the past three months.

The ceremony’s highlight was the "Trainee Project Presentation." Three trainees showcased original bags and handcrafted dolls, demonstrating the professional sewing techniques mastered at SDC. These works reflected the graduates' keen observation of daily needs and their newfound creative problem-solving skills.

| A New Beginning

As each of the 24 graduates—with a special salute to the 14 from FCA—received their certificates, the room resonated with pride. We congratulate all our graduates for proving that dedication and professional support can turn any challenge into a stepping stone for a brighter future.
